What’s in the box

About 150 question cards split into three levels, plus wildcards, a Final Card, a notepad and pencils, and “Dig Deeper” cards that let you ask someone to say more.

How the levels work

  • Level 1 – Perception: first impressions and assumptions about each other. Light, funny, sometimes surprisingly accurate.
  • Level 2 – Connection: questions about your past, your fears, and what matters to you.
  • Level 3 – Reflection: what you learned about each other during the game and how you see each other now.

How to play

  1. Set the Final Card aside before you start.
  2. One player draws a Level 1 card and asks it. The other player answers. Then swap roles.
  3. Answer at least 15 cards in a level before you move to the next one.
  4. If you draw a wildcard, do what it says. Some are silly, and some need both players.
  5. Use a Dig Deeper card when an answer feels rushed. The answerer goes one layer further.
  6. After Level 3, play the Final Card: each person writes a note to the other, folds it, and opens it only after you part ways.

It was designed for two people, but groups of up to six work if everyone answers the same card in turn.

Host tips

  • Say the skip rule before card one. Anyone can pass, every time.
  • Phones away if you want real answers.
  • Don’t bring the Couples edition to a first date or a work retreat.
  • Keep the group small. Past six, people wait too long and answers get shorter.

A good flow

Start on Perception cards and let them stay playful. Skip anything that feels like a job interview. If tears show up, pause and ask whether to continue, because depth is optional every single turn. End with something light, like a walk, dessert, or a dumb movie.

FAQ

How many players?

Two to six. Huge circles dilute honesty, so split into smaller groups.

Is it a drinking game?

No. You can play with drinks on the table, but nothing in the rules asks anyone to drink, and the game works best clear-headed.

How long does it take?

Anywhere from 15 minutes for a few cards to a couple of hours for all three levels. You can stop at any level and pick up later.
